Zilwa Attitude Holidays 2016-2017
Luxury Mauritius Holiday
Stylish Zilwa exudes Mauritian character and is the ideal place to discover and unwind.
On a beautiful beach on the north coast of Mauritius, Zilwa Attitude is a charming and somewhat unique hotel concept. Drawing heavily on local traditions, the whole resort has been created to make you feel like a true islander, which is what ‘Zilwa’ means in Creole. From the simple-yet-stylish rooms to the wonderful local dishes and cultural experiences, the aim is to make you feel like you’re in a home away from home.
Not only does Zilwa offer local delicacies, it also serves Indian, Chinese and European cuisine to reflect the diversity of the island. Each of the restaurants offers a new taste experience, whilst many also offer special cooking evenings where you can try your hand at cooking authentic Creole cuisine, and then eat it afterwards. What really sets Zilwa apart are its experiences; it really runs with the islander vibe and makes sure you’re doing things that offer a taste of the real Mauritius. You can enjoy dinner at a local home with the family, take a Creole language lesson or explore a Mauritian bazaar.
Contemporary rooms are inspired by traditional Mauritian seaside bungalows, with a ‘rustic chic’ design. They feature the standard mod cons as well as pieces created by local artists and craftsmen. You’ll also get a pair of traditional ‘Dodo’ flip flops to use and take home with you. Everything from the Superior Rooms up to the Privilege Junior Beachfront Suites has a real welcoming vibe and plenty of authentic touches.
In Calodyne on the north coast, with views of 5 offshore islands

Restaurants & bars
In keeping with the islander theme, all the restaurants and bars are named with Creole words and continue using traditional styles of décor with contemporary touches. The main restaurant Karay is open all day and serves a range of Asian, India and Mauritian cuisine in a buffet style. There is also a different theme each evening for dinner. Saté and Siaw both specialise in Asian cuisine with show kitchens allowing you to watch the magic in the kitchen. They are only open for dinner and offer a relaxed yet refined atmosphere. Saté has more traditional décor while Siaw has a more modern vibe and is also home to the live cooking demonstrations every other day.
Lor Disab is one of the most relaxed restaurants, where you can dine with your toes in the sand right out on the beach. Open for lunch and dinner offering a vast array of dishes with local influences. You’ll also find the Lor Disab Bar here, serving an array of colourful cocktails and other beverages whilst you gaze up at the stars for the comfort of your beanbag or sofa. The snack bar Taba-J is open for lunch and afternoon tea, with a great variety of sandwiches, paninis and traditional Mauritian pancakes as well as cakes and pastries. At Siro Kann you can enjoy a home-made rum workshop on Mon, Wed and Fri before enjoying a range of cocktails using said rum. There is also the signature Zilwa cocktail, ideally sipped whilst relaxing in chic surround.
For 3-12 year olds, there’s the Mini Club, with mascot Ayo the Dodo and a great pirate theme, open from 9am-9pm. The club has a grounded boat where children can play, and there are many activities on offer throughout the day. One of the most popular is the treasure hunt on Crusoe’s Island, a private island owned by the resort. There are also glass bottom boat trips, scavenger hunts and pool games.
